Ilu Finu

According to one ancient Jewish fantasy, the body of the first human being  stretched from one end of the earth to the other.  (Midrash Genesis Rabbah 8:1).  In the prayer Ilu Finu, we make the same imaginative leap, picturing ourselves filling the entire world, eyes blazing, wings outstretched, our mouth an ocean roaring, singing, laughing, singing, crashing, singing...
